After the rumors and leaks we now have them – the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 pro are both official after they were announced during an online event today.
The two newly announced phones are surprisingly similar, but lets start with the first paper one.
The OnePlus 9 ships with a 6.55-inch FHD+ display that’s powered at 120Hz in terms of revitalize rate. It has a flat AMOLED screen as well as an in-display fingerprint sensor for those who delight in their meat-based authentication.
The OnePlus 9 pro has a curved 6.7-inch QHD+ LTPO AMOLED that is also set for 120Hz refresh. The use of LTPO technology allows the phone to decrease its revitalize rate dynamically based on what’s displayed on-screen. just taking a look at a clock? This thing will decrease its revitalize rate all the way down to just 1Hz to save battery life.
Inside, the two devices are very similar. Both use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset and come with 8/12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128/256GB UFS 3.1 storage configurations.
Then, there are the cameras. OnePlus 9 features triple cameras; a 48-megapixel Sony IMX689 sensor, the new Sony IMX766 50-megapixel ultrawide-angle, and a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor. The OnePlus 9 pro as expected, brings out the big guns with a 48-megapixel Sony IMX789 sensor, the 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 ultrawide (as found in the OnePlus 9), a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor, and an additional 3.3x telephoto lens with an 8-megapixel sensor.
Both phones come with Android 11 installed. OnePlus 9 will be available in winter season Mist, Arctic Sky, and Astral Black in 8/128GB and 12/256GB configurations with pricing of$729/£629 and $829/£729 respectively.
Things jump up when you choose the Pro, with an asking price of $969/£829 for the 8/128GB configuration and the 12/256GB option is priced at $1069/£929.
